Exposed spoke threads

My Dad picked up an 08' 300 a few years ago and I kind of adopted it. I was tightening a few lose spokes when I noticed the exposed threads. It has a good tire and is set up TUbless so I figured I would ask for information before I pulled the tire to see how much contact the spokes are making w/ the nipples. It's a DID Dirt Star rim w/ a red label. I'm thinking the original rim had a deeper dish?

As long as the nipple isn't hanging by the last 2 threads, and they are tightened properly...they're fine. The threads were probably cut a little long is all.

Thanks. I was able to back off a nipple about 10mm and the threads kept going so I'm not going to worry about it. I've built 100's of bicycle wheels and exposed threads are a sign that the builder didn't do his length calculations correctly.

The only thing I hate about bicycles...lacing wheels;) I can keep 'em round & straight, but I dislike lacing them up.
