Farewell to Fatfreddie?

Fatfreddie (Brett Saunders) called it quits with BMG/Dixie last week. I wonder who will step up to the plate and steer the Gas Gas/Husaberg ship in the USA?

I have heard that someone very well known in the Gas Gas community will be taking over its Dist and promotion. I will let the guys at BMG announce it first.

I'll bet $1 on Fred Hoess. But I'm just grabbing names out of the air. I like to start rumors.:p

Sooo what exactly does this mean? Did the latest importer drop out? ( Iron Mountain Motorsports ) or do I have this all wrong? I mean WTF!? If we can't get a reliable importer of these great bikes I'm outta here! I've had 4 Gasser's, including an 03 FSE! I'm what you might call "brand loyal" but... I can't keep from feeling that soon GASGAS will go the way Of TM.
Just My 2 cents...

No, no, no. No chicken little scenarios. Just a personnel change and corporate re-arranging to take advantage of the US/Canadian markets from what I understand. Brett was tired, and if you've seen his "photography", I would have quit the bike thing too so I could take photos! (www.brettsaunders.com - websense will block it.)

Don't take out ads on your bikes just yet.
The future is so bright for Gas Gas (and Husaberg) the bikes should all come with a pair of shades.

From what I understand, Barrett Marketing Group owns a good chunk of Dixie Sales (if not the whole thing) in the US. Iron Mountain will be the "motorsports" arm of Dixie. Brett left for personal reasons and BMG/Dixie/Iron Mountain will replace him in due time with a qualified person.

I'm not getting any of this first hand, so if someone feels like correcting me, jump on in. There are people out there who know boatloads more than I do.

As both brands get more quality dealers on board things can only go uphill.

You should have made that bet. You would have been up a buck.
No kidding ? If it's true then he'll be sure to keep the 2-strokes coming. I'm under the impression that the reason he left Husky was because they weren't sending 2-strokes over here.

Confirmed. This was posted by BMGs Western Canada Sales Rep on husaberg.org...

"Fred Hoess will handle east coast sales and whatever comes his way in racing. I cannot speak for the finer details of his job description, I can say that he is good man and has a wealth of experience in marketing offroad motorcycles. Fred and I spent the last 5 days together, and I was unaware of his experiences with Huquarna and Ducati."

I got a chance to run up a few miles with fred this weekend,we had our snow run enduro,he showed up and borrowed a bike from another Gasser ride Jake korn, who has a slight hand injury and couldnt ride,he caught up to me pretty quick going into a check, and I got(tried to )to follow him for a few miles,he just kept pulling away,I ended up burning three checks for 6 penalty points which cost me any shot at a trophy, leaving me dropping a 20 for eighth(first dropped a 13) Oh Yah fast freddy dropped a whopping 4! and won the overall besting alot of very fast A and AA riders by more than a few minutes who got caught a couple minutes early into a very controversial check, Way to go Freddy:)
