Hi All,
The new photo gallery software is installed and appears to be running well. I am concerned about performance impact given the moderate speed of my dsl internet connection (the server is at my home).

Can you take a few minutes to respond to the poll and let me know if I need to tweak things - this might mean either getting a faster internet connection or requiring the photos be smaller and not allowing use of video clips.

If you have specific feedback, please reply to this post...

thanks,
jeff

It was very slow earlier today, but seems good now.

I would recommend removing all(most) of the info below the thumbnails.

Thanks Guys - I edited the code to remove the printing of some information to get the size down. If you want to hide this section - you can click on the little circle in the upper right hand corner of the featured photos box (the circle with two upward arrows). This selection appears to be stored in a cookie - if you "shrink" the featured photos box - it will still be "shrunk" if you close the browser and come back later.

thanks!,
jeff

p.s. Thanks for letting me know it was a little slow - I checked out a few things on the server - looks like I could use a little more memory. I'll pop another stick in their tomorrow. thanks...

Jeff,

Everything works good for me with my cable modem.

My only complaint is not having a link back to the forums. I have to close the window and then relaunch the forums from the main page. Perhaps, you could add a link at the top or bottom of the photo gallery page.

Thanks

Matt,

Just click the folder next to "GasGas Riders Club Forum" at the top left.

I just found out how to get rid of the excess info.

At the top right there is a drop-down box for "View". Just select "thumbnail" and it has no info.

speaking of dense people- I can't seem to view the whole photo-side to side. is there a way to slide it into the center of my screen? most screens can be adjusted up/down/side to side?

I changed the formatting and got rid of the "junk on the left of the screen". (there was a calendar and post statistics, etc.) Is that better? If not, can you let me know which browser you are using. With either internet explorer or firefox, I do get a scroll bar at the bottom of the screen if the whole screen cannot be displayed.

As an alternative, you could switch to mozilla firefox as your browser (www.getfirefox.com) - it has a popup menu that will allow you to show the photo in it's own browser window. By default, the photo will scale to fit in the new window in firefox.

thanks,
jeff
