Hey everyone, first timer here. I sold my built kdx200 not long ago and was in the market for something European to take things up a notch. A friend had a 2000 ec250 that he got in a trade. Thought he'd like it but didn't like the lack of engine braking coming from his 450s. So I bought it! It's a Frankenbike though:
00 ec250 frame
Ec300 motor swapped in
06 rmz450 front end(47mm USD Showa)
Custom lengthened steering stem for the swap
DOMA pipe
EE hand guards
Fat bars
Not sure what else yet.
We don't know what oil mix it's jetted for so hanging out in the 40:1 range, but I need to sort that out. I usually run Maxima.

Runs pretty good, I love the suspension, still getting to know it. Any suggestions on what to check/where to go from here? Riding intermediate ish single track, 2 track and rocky desert terrain.

Oh and it came with a 19" rear. Smh

Welcome! Glad you found your way to the site. The GG is like a KDX on steroids. Those 47mm forks are an excellent addition!

I took one ride of a gasser and my kids was for sale. Haha autocorrect but I'll leave it like that. But I sold my kdx.

Find jeting thread. Stock needle is terrible.

Thanks guys. It has a lot of aftermarket stuff going on, so I need to open up the carb and see what's in there already. She absolutely SUCKS down fuel right now. I went from full to reserve in about an hour of puttering around and getting to know it. The kdx would go so far on a tank that I never actually found out how far it would go, but easily went 3-4x as far/long, so due diligence is in order. Quite possible that I've never even found the top end because it's running so rich. Doesn't sputter, spooge or smoke much though, so idk.
Ordering a second air filter.. 00 cr250 fits from what I read on here?

Yeah, the CR250 filter works. '92-'96 Honda CR250R, '90-'97 KTM 250/300/360, '94-'96 Kawasaki KX, and '00-'01 Honda CR250R.

Yeah, I miss the fuel mileage of my KDX when riding my Gasser. However, the Lectron does pretty damn good. Check your float height as well as you might be losing fuel as you ride. I tend to run 1 or 2mm lower than factory on PWK carbs. If you need help with anything just let me know. You know I'm close by!

The float jets do wear, had to replace a mates one recently. Should get 10km per litre so about 80-90 km per tank.
