The flywheel weights supplied by gofasters are made by checkpoint machine. It is good stuff.

How does this compare to the stock 'heavy' flywheel in my 2004 EC 250? I understand these had the heavier flywheels from the factory? Anyone know the weight of the stock flywheel?

There is a tech article on the main website that calculates the moment of intertia for each option (EC igntion, XC ignition, flywheel weights, etc.).

Bottom line is that most flywheel effect is had by the larger ignition.

Ah-right, for $40 why not

Send your PP addy and I guess you could drop it in a $5 flat rate USPS box to KY? Or you could just come over and ride my private single track and bring it, I am just over the hill from Virginy....

It is for the small ignition, right?

I'm confused.Does that old post regarding "ec" ignition refer to the "de" ignition w/wires exciting @ 10:00 o'clock or "ec"= heavier ignition exciting @ 2:00 o'clock?

What gets confusing is that XC and DE were simply EC variants. The old '99 - '02 XCs had the 2K-2s, and now we have a new '11 XCs with 2K-3s. For this reason always refer to the direct type of ignition once you have identified it.

The weights spin on the crank over the 2K-2 flywheels in place of the nut, and fit fine under the cover with no clearance issues. Work nice on 250s. If you need more flywheel than a 2K-3 check out the trials bikes.

I'm just being a wise ass, it means you should not need any more flywheel than the 2K-3 provides.

Thanks Gaser, got the weight in a couple of days. I was a little curious as to what it really was since you advertised it as 16oz and the heaviest I could find was a 14, but after hanging it up on my scales it was a 14 (not that its a problem, just curious). Anxious to get it on and try it, hopefully its just the ticket for my sons 250 over the nasty rocks we ride.

I am sorry but i check the wight at the ups store a few weeks ago and it said 16oz. makes me wonder about the ups store???

Like I said, it wasn't a problem at all, just had me scratching my head. I tried it on my 300 and really liked it, although it didn't make as huge a difference as I thought it would, but that also includes it didn't hurt anything as much either. I found it a bit harder to stall over the rough stuff, but the bike is already so smooth it didn't need any help there. We will see what my son thinks as he is a little reluctant to try because he likes the hit of the 250....kids :rolleyes:
