HI,CAN ANY OF YOU GUYS TELL ME THE PRO'S AND CONS OF FLYWHEEL WEIGHTS PLEASE?
WE DO A LOT OF TRAIL RIDING AND ENDURO RACES HERE IN THE UK AND THE SECOND HAND GASSER I'VE JUST PURCHASED IS AN EX-WORKS BIKE AND HAS ALL THE TOP GEAR ON BUT I'VE NEVER HAD A BIKE WITH A WEIGHT BEFORE,WILL IT AFFECT RELIABILITY?
YOUR THOUGHTS WOULD BE GREAT,CHEERS,DAGWOOD.:D

Do you have one with the EC ignition or the MC ignition. Also what year is the bike, what displacement and does it have HI - Lo ignition?

Hi - just saw this....My 2001 300 came with the small
about 3" dia. ignition. I put a 12 oz flywheel weight on
it after a few rides and it was a big improvement in control.
The tire would not spin as much going up hills the traction was better.
Then just last month I finally put a big flywheel ignition on
and it is even that much better. I can control the powerslide through a turn much better now. :)
If you are not an expert I would say it will help a lot.

flywheel weights

i have a 16oz weight on my '02 XC 300 and it is excellent. really helps in the mud and hillclimbs. really helps the bike to lug if you are in too high a gear. if the revs are too low, just a tap of the clutch and off you go.
