Yes you can.
If you are trying to tame it down, you can always put a fywheel and stator with the lighting coil on it.

The MC has a very small flywheel.

G2 throttle works well also. I know where you can get one cheap. Hint hint...
I tried it but had too much "delay" for me.
 
i really like a fww.. you can tell the mc has a small fw..
we were riding a trial today called jalapeno...there is a pretty good rocky hill at the end of it.. the mc pulled the front wheel at the bottom and was almost at a ground loop at the top..
fun stuff..
 
The 2K-2 and 2K-1 (whats likely on the MC) flywheels are the same size. The 2K-1 stator has no lighting coil. You can use any weight for a 2K-2 flywheel, like the spin on weights from GoFasters.

My 03 EC200DE had the light ignition so I put a weight that replaced the crankshaft nut (12oz I think) and it is now perfect. It smoothed it out without turning it into a slow revving tractor.
