FMF The "Q" for Gas Gas?

This spark arrestor is offered for the 199-2002 KX 250. Is this the year needed to match up to a Gas Gas EC250? I see a dealer selling a still new 2005 EC 250 for $4,500. That is tempting but I want the quietest S.A. I can find.

I doubt the Q is any quieter than a stock GasGas silencer. My 200 tested at 85dBA and my 250 is a little quieter. Get a stock silencer and ditch the FMF turbine core 2 and you'll be good.

I will happily run the EC silencer with added Spark Arrestor if I can find one.

Thanks for the replies.

I originally added a Sparky spark arrestor on my stock '06 EC300 silencer.

Later I installed a FMF Q from a KX as you are inquiring about. Here is how it went...

No difference in perceived noise from my vantage point as a rider. The mechanical noise from the engine and the noise from the expansion chamber pulses become the dominant noise source once you have a good silencer.

You can Put a carbon fiber pipe guard and rubber under coat your skid plate also if you want to drop some sound. cause from what I've witnessed at NMA sanctioned event sound tests, there isn't a whole lot of difference between a Q's sound output and the turbine core 2's. Much of what noise is picked up on a sound meter is not from the muffler but the motor. Its amazing how much noise is generated from the engine area and expansion chamber. It is very easy to tell how much sound is coming from the engine area when you do put on a super quiet muffler or add on like the db snorkel like jeffd mentioned.
