I have an 03 KTM 300EXC for sale. It has current NY State street title and plate. I put many new parts into it and only did some trail riding and rode one Enduro after installing them. I rode the senior C class and came in third (first Enduro I have ridden in 11 years). The parts I put into it are: new piston and rings (the one that was in it was OK I just wanted to start with a fresh engine), wheel bearings, new tires, brake pads, fork seals, front brake line, hydraulic clutch line, new plastic, air filter, new kick stand assembly. It has MSR aluminum hand guards with plastic add on deflectors, carbon fiber pipe guard and aluminum skid plate. The reason I am selling it is because I got a good deal on a left over 05 GasGas EC250. I like the engine in the KTM much better, but the GasGas is new has a warranty and I can't afford both. I am asking $2700 OBO, Must sell! PM me if interested. I will try and put a picture on here soon. Thanks Ash

New price $2500. I am also looking for a 300cc cylinder piston and head for my 05 GasGas EC250, I would consider trade towards the KTM.

This bike has a current NY State street plate and I believe could be made street legal with a dual sport kit.
I was going to lower the price on this but the bike is worth more than that so I guess I will try again in the spring.

Just sold my KTM 300EXC :) Now I am looking for some mods for my 05 GasGas EC250. Looking to get LTR power valve cover, LTR Jet kit, smaller front sprocket, heavier springs both front and rear for 225# Vet C rider and some inexpensive aluminum hand guards for the stock GasGas bars. Can anyone point me in the right direction for these parts? Thanks, Ash

What spring do you have on the rear now?

I don't know if a 56 is what you would need at 225# but if it will work for you I have a 56 Ohlins spring in nice shape from my '05 MC 250 that I would trade for a 52 or 54.

I think Go Fasters has all of the other stuff or you can probably get the LTR stuff directly.

It's stamped right on the spring in black lettering. You might have to rotate the spring around to spot the numbers. They should be like xxxxxx? 12-56, L 344 where on my spring the 56 would be the nm spec. I tried to find out what the rest of those numbers meant HERE with no success. I think stock the ECs came with 52nm springs.

I think (can't remember for sure) one can see the numbers with the shock in place. On mine they were towards the top of the spring.

All of the GG Ohlins springs will fit. The "5X" part of the number is all thats relative and indicates the spring rate. If you can't see it, put the bike on a stand with weight off the suspension and twist the spring by hand until you can. I'd bet it came with a 52Nm spring. If you do up the spring rate, you need to do the forks to retain balance. Valving next.
