Fork Guards?

I guy that I ride with from time to time has a KTM with the black uppers, he cut a piece of black PVC pipe so that it snaps over the uppers. You cannot tell that they are there but they sure keep all the pings from rocks off. I think that I will try something with my 2011. What I am trying to describe is you cut the pipe a little over 1/2 so that it is like 200 degree and snaps over the forks.

I use clear background, that is probably the least expensive, but E-line or Moose make carbon fiber upper protectors. Your local shop should be able to get them from Parts Unlimited.

Like Jeremy said, here are the E-Line guards.

I too run the E line fork guards. I have since Gas Gas started putting black forks on these bikes. When I was recently shopping around for alternatives for my 2011 I found this company .http://www.lightspeedcarbon.net/index.php looks like good stuff for a bit less.

I still ended up with the E line ones as I know what quality they provide in fork guards. They are pretty thick and take a beating not sure about the lightspeed brand.

Wrap the fork leg with friction tape first and they stay put when snapped on, keep dirt out and off the aluminum, and provides a little back padding.

Rod what does the 2011 300 look like? Hopefully is has a little more ride time on it than this one!! Like always the bike looks great.

For those on a budget - you can use thick mil carbon fiber patterned vinyl sheet to protect the fork leg. Looks great and doesn't have the issue with carbon fiber guards where dirt can get between the guard and the anodized aluminum - creating some nasty abrasion.

That's why I wrap 3x3 strips (top, middle and bottom) of black elec. tape on each fork leg before I install the guards. :) This keeps dirt/sand from eating up the outer leg, plus gives the guard something to grip to.

HA! The 2010 photo was taken back in the spring (look at the green grass!) The 2011 is coming along nicely, thanks :D

Ah, the green, green grass of home....I need to get up there again. When my dad was able to travel, we'd go to C-ville a couple of times a year but its been a couple of years since we went.

Bike looks awesome, Rod.

I am going down to Perry Mtn tomorrow with a couple of buddies to break in the 6 days. I won't be able to make the race on Sunday though. I'm really in no shape to race anyway. By the way, its supposed to snow Sunday, Monday and Tuesday down here!

Yes, you do need to come back home for a few days. Bring the bike so we can go ride Alan.

I read your "ride report" on the O.K.A. site, sounds like you are happy with the 300 6 Days. No surprise!!!
