hi, I bought a set of marzocchi 45s, there are off a 2004 250ec, my bike is a 1999 250ec with conventional forks and I was wondering if I could use the original wheel with the 2004 forks?
Parts I know I will need to complete the swap are
Fork clamps
Wheel axle and spacers
Wheel bearings and seals
Wheel?
Brake caliper?

No, just change the bearings, spacers ,brushing and axle from a 04 parts listing.

The OEM rotor will be fine, but more than likely the 04 used a Nissan caliper . I am not sure if you can use the Brembo master cylinder and brake line. The banjo fittings might not be correct.

When I did the same swap i also used 03 entire brake system. Direct swap.

Hope that helps....good luck

hi, thanks for the reply, I checked the bolt mounts for the brake caliper today and they are much further apart than the brembo brake mount on my bike. So I am looking for a complete front brake now aswell.

The front brake You'll need will be very easy to source, it's a very common Nissin caliber, comes stock on almost any Yamaha yz/wr:D

hi, I have managed to find all the parts required to do the fork swap, with a bit of luck the final parts should arive in the post this week:)

The plan is to get them on saturday and test them out on sunday. The forks are 2004 zokes what would the ideal fork oil height, comp and rebound settings be?

I mainly ride rocky trails and a few woods trails in my area thanks

Well I recieved the parts today, but the axle I received is too small for the forks. I think the seller has sent me axle off a early ec

That sucks about the axle. Can't help on the oil level. As for clickers , start in the middle for comp and rebound. Then work from there.....take notes and keep track of changes......a few clicks at a time.

Good luck

front fork upgrade all done, it just needs a good run out to test them out :D
