Front axle tightening

When its tightened down should the brake side of the axle be flush with the outer part of the fork leg or just pulled tight until there are no gaps in the spacers etc.

The service manual online doesnt say just says torque specs.

Insert axle.
Tighten right pinch bolts (opposite brake).
Tighted axle nut to torque.
Loosen right pinch bolts.
Spin front tire and top with brakes several times to help align the forks.
Tighten pinch bolts to torque.

This procedure should get your forks aligned properly so they don't bind.

Hmm well I dont have a axle nut to torque..I replaced it with axle sliders.

So I loosened both pinch bolts and tightened it down but the axle didnt pull flush with the fork leg but it was tight, didnt use the torque wrench but will prob do it next time. But it wasnt moving.

So I tightened down the pinch bolts and rode it.

Everything seems to be tight, no gap in the spacers etc but never checked out the axle when I did the axle bolt before cause ya gotta use a flashlight and look in the gap that the pinchbolt closes to even see how far it goes. And my axle bolt is totally stripped now so I cant tighten it down to test it.
