Goodnight I live in Brazil and our gasoline has 27% alcohol My Gasgas is 300 2011 I'm using 40 1 and 1/4 in air #4jd red and 180 The bike runs well, I just think it smokes a little at idle. When I go at 1/8 it goes well until the power valve opens and it goes lean. What should I test?

Are you saying you can ride your bike at 1/8 throttle and it revs high enough for your power valve to open?

Find a big bit of free wall space in garage. Spray paint in large letters. I will always think about jetting by throttle position, not revs.
Ok, maybe brush paint that. But BIG.

Test bike. Consult wall.

Make adjustments and test. Consult wall.

I'm tempted to try tell you something about mainjet size, but I'll bite my tongue as the alchohol may make what I'm about to say completely wrong.
(Ha. Reread that and wouldn't be the first time alcohol has had that effect! )

Try find a long paddock ideally with uphill. Try a size bigger main. Full throttle only. Is it better or worse? If it's worse, go the other way.

Consult wall.

Once revving out nicely at full throttle, you can try pay attention to mid positions. Be consistent.

After each test, consult wall.

If you buy a roadbike with FI or CV carbs, ignore wall. But until then. . .

The bike is lean only when I'm on the road at high revs and only 1/8 of the throttle. It also happens when I'm accelerating everything and I release the accelerator, it gives a lean symptom when the accelerator is 1/8

I believe that jd needles do not work with Brazilian fuel 27% alcohol. I'm using the blue needle #5 with pilot 42, and the bike sounds lean at high revs with low loads, when I release the throttle with the power valve open, and when I'm on the highway with high speed and I accelerate and decelerate slowly it is lean.

You have packed a lot in there with a disconnect to throttle position at the start.

We will be stupid to try give specific advice as most of us have never experienced that much alcohol. I'd expect it would allow high compression but have lower calorific value talking with racers that used to use Methanol. (not ethanol). They had to increase jet size by 2.3 and used a bunch more gas.

Actually my only experience is dynoting a classic Norton 850. It ran surprisingly cold but almost poisoned us with fumes.

So not as extreme. But a slightly richer needle and std main might be the go. Heck might be only place N1FE needle could be an advantage.

Try it maybe. Lower clip, if ot gets worse in mid throttle position/transition, Raise clip.

Always try richer first. If it gets better keep going. If it is worse or no real difference try the other way. Sometimes you will be surprised at opposite to the way you imagined. But rich first is safe esp with alcohol ladened fuel I'd bet.
