gear changer shaft fitment

my gear changer shaft is rather rusty on the spline end so needs replacing
i have a 2000 EC300 but the replacment i found is from a 2003, are they the same or wont it fit.

They are the same in all the Gassers. Just put a new one in my 97'. Pick up a new shaft seal to when you replace it, good insurance.
