GG FSE 450 crank shaft and other parts [rebuild]

Hi! It's my firts post here. In the beginning I'd like to sorry for my grammar, I'm from Poland and if something will not look clear, just tell me.

I'm going to rebuild my GG engine. It's quite hard to get parts in my country (used/new - same problem) so I've got some questions. Btw it's FSE 450 from 2003 (supermoto).

I heared that i can use some parts from DRZ 400. Which ones exactly? Cam shafts, valves?

I'll probably have to change crankshaft and that's a big problem. It's not possible to buy it in Poland. I tried to find one on ebay but there's only one from GG 400, and the question is if it fits the 450 engine? What are the differences between 400 and 450?

Cheers

I'm not a 4T guy but if I was was in Europe I'd go to motocrosscenter.com they seem to up on all the GasGas stuff and they might could help you source your needs Good Luck!

I tried there. I found only 2005 cylinder and piston set and I have no idea if it's the same as 2003. I sent them a message. The price is really good, it's 300 euros. When i tried to found it by part number on the web i found only GG OEM cylinder for 1200 euro which is almost half of bikes value in my country.

The 450 is awesome, fifth gear and wheelie with no problems but I was not very lucky with mine. I made a few hours after buying, just for testing before taking the engine on the table and it just sopped working. Piston, cylinder, crankshaft - junk. It's looks like the last owner didn't really care about oil and filtres.

I still don't know if crankshaft from 400 fits the 450. I think it should but but I'm not very happy about spending money without being sure.

The o3 EC400 and the 03 EC450 have the same stroke that being said the cranks are also the same, I do know that the stock bore of the 400 is 90mm and the 450 is 95mm that is all I've been able to find for differences between the two. I just ordered a big bore DRZ400 kit with high compression piston and hot cams, if the cams have to be modded I'll just put a DRZ head on the damn thing and call it good.

Rebuild went well but I had to press the stock crank apart and use a new DRZ400 rod pin and rod bearing. But with some machining you could use the entire DRZ400 crank but the GG one is just different enough that you cannot simply swap them.
