The top of the shock gets worn away from your leg/boot whatever, has anyone got a neat solution of something to put over there to stop the shock getting worn?

Somebody made a quicky plastic guard for one from a lid to a spray can a while ago,, I've also seen CF ones for other bikes,, would be nice to see one for this too..

I made one with the spray paint lid. Someone else came up with it.

Easy to do. Cut it in half and then carve out top leaving a lip. Drill two holes in each side and use a zip tie around the shock reservior to hold it.

Cut a redbull can and splice the back and zip-tye it on. Also works for your top fork tubes in the tree. You may also use and other pop or beer can out there.

Any pics I think I've seen beer cans used before and they look good - a red bull blue may match the color of the bike. Only problem is I hope I don't have to drink the stuff!

I used the clear stick-on scruff you can get from the bike shops.
Seems to last a long time and you don't notice it.

Also a couple of films over the head light to stop cracking is also worth it.
You can normally buy it in 1 meters lenght.

While I personally don't worry about the wear on my my Gasser's shocks, I have thought about removing the gold anodization and polishing the shock body. I'll save that for when I'm injured and bored. Our Web Master did this to my '96 XR400 shock when he gratiously revalved the shock for me.
