Headlight help

Hey,

I've tried to get my 2001 GasGas EC300 ready for the road.

I've fitted a new trail tech 12V AC regulator, earthed it to the frame etc...

Now that i have hooked up the headlight, upon turning the engine over by hand (spark plug removed to loose compression) i can get the parking light bulb to light up, but on dipped and full beam i get no life from the main bulb.

I'm assuming the two connectors on the headlamp that are side by side are low and high beam, and the terminal to the side is the earth?

Other question was will i need the bike to be running to test the headlamp? or would this turn over by hand generate enough power?

Thanks

I would get it running and test it before trying to troubleshoot anything. And yes, the three wires going to the main bulb are high/low/ground.

I tested my headlight with the battery in my lawn tractor and two leads from my multi-meter. No lawn tractor, use a street bike or you car/truck.

Thanks for the responses.

Turned out i deffo needed the bike running... A turn over by hand wasn't enough to get the bulbs lighting up...
