E emepher New member Feb 20, 2020 #1 Recently found my bearing seized and the conical gears are not spinning. I sprayed penetrant and unseized the bearing but want to replace it. N Nocams New member Feb 20, 2020 #2 I used heat on the starter casting and a few firm taps on the edge of the workbench. Came out nicely.

F fred99999au Member Feb 20, 2020 #3 yep, heat around the outside of the case where the bearing lives. I also made a tool to fit behind the pinion section of the shaft that fitted onto a slide hammer. This helped.
