Can you send me the VIN and your info so I can post it in the forums that I belong to?

Thanks Vince, I appreciate it. Happened on the south side of Atlanta in Fairburn/Union City. VIN is JKBDXBAC3XA016088

I can't stand thieves either, couldn't believe it happened. I do tons of Craigslist deals and am usually pretty good sniffing out the BS. :\
I met up with someone, seemed like a good guy in a decent neighborhood. They asked to take a test ride, and I let them without getting anything from them first. They never came back and I couldn't chase them down.

Also, my phone is 770-733-2986 if anybody spots it. Thanks again.

Holy shit! That is a ballsy way to steal a bike. Good luck finding it. Keep an eye out for a part out on eBay

wait if that is the ad put up by the thief why not contact local authorities?

edit: re-read the ad. ignore this post sorry

That sucks and is probably everyone's worst nightmare when doing CL deals. Probably a bad sign if someone walks to the test ride.

No, not a walk up.
I do not know the exact details, but several times lately it has happened like this.... Guy arrives with a buddy, the guy takes off on test ride to his truck/trailer out of sight. The buddy stays there talking to seller so he doesn't realize what is happening. When seller gets concerned about the amount of time, the buddy pretends to be concerned that his friend may have wrecked or stopped by the police and suggests that they go search for him [separately of course] and disappears.

Scenario #2 ... the buddy is waiting in his car and takes off before the seller can stop him!

Makes sense, dam dirt bags!

:eek:when I'm 'looking' at a bike, I have a friend wait in the car.
Then when the bike is outside and running, my buddy calls the sellers phone and says something urgent like your mom is dead or the boss is on the phone .
then when the seller goes to answer the call inside the house, I leave with the bike.
works good.
the bad news is I've only gotten orange bikes so far.

GGDreamer- Now that's really a stretch, you don't have friends, you have accomplices.
I have received some of your CraigsList texts and met you while I was trying to "Kollect The in$urance Money," you failed us miserably by always getting caught because I always "Karry The Magnum," so help you out with your career, I have some New acronyms for you:
"Kan Take Many" by "Kalling The Moron" and the CL texter's and pawnshops favorite . . . "Ka$h To Morrow" then when ridden it's "Kall The #@*^!! Mechanic" afterwards it's "Keep all The Money," cause it's "Kall The Morgue!!"

Don't even get me started, and Yes, I have owned several enough to know they "Kan't Take Motocross"
