Hi Guys - Silicone Radiator Hoses?

Hi Guys!

Hope I am not breaking a rule by posting this in my 1st post on the site......

I am Steve from Moto Hose in York SC.

Just wanted to give you guys a heads up that we are working with Go Fasters to produce a Colored Silicone Radiator Hose Kit for the newer Gas Gas 250. The plan is to eliminate the thermostat in the Silicone Radiator Hoses..... plus when Moto Hose makes a hose kit we replace most if not All of the hoses on the bike with colored hoses.

The 1st run will probably only be in one color .... guessing Red or Blue but what are your opinions?

Price has not been set yet but our typical carbureted Y kit with a 1 piece Y hose is $144.95

This is what our kit looks like on a KTM 250

Hey,Steve welcome!
I had been browsing your website looking for a kit to use when I get around to a rebuild. I think the red kit would probably sell better but, I like the blue. Does the price include clamps and if so what kind?

Holy smoke!!! You dare to do this on your first post!!!

Most will wait at least a year before they post pictures of a KTM!!! :)

Welcome to the forum Steve :)

:D Maybe you want our New Pink hoses???

Hose clamps are not included. The Orange bikes ;) come stock with the good clamps... maybe Gas Gas does too?

Bad stock clamps...

Good clamps have beveled edges and are stamped so there are no holes where the "threads" are.

Welcome Steve.

GasGas' come stock with a love-or-hate constant tension clamp. Never too tight, never too loose, just somewhat of a trick to remove.

Funny you ask. I jut sent him a PM last night as I am need of one. He said they did not make the last run and hope to be in the next run.... Guessing if we show more interest and email him that would help out.

Great idea and money saver for sure.

But what about the 90 degree bends & 45 degree bends?

Do you have some pics of the finished product on your bike? Would love to see.

Thanks!!
Early model gassers have one 90 degree bends in the upper radiator hoses but the later models have two. The metal outlet nipple on the top of the later model radiators sticks out straight instead of making a 90 degree bend like on the older radiators. This was a stupid change (IMO) since it forces the upper hose to make an additional 90 degree bend. Hoses for the older radiators can be found at any auto parts store but finding formed hoses with two 90 degree bends 7-8 inches apart and turned 90 degrees to each other can be difficult. The upper hoses (latter model) are not the same they are mirror images of each other. I was able to find a suitable replacement for one but not the other at my local auto parts store. I do believe the multiply silicone hose material would be flexible and strong enough to make what can be a large 90 degree bend that would work on the older radiators but the sharp 90 degree bend required at the top of the later radiators could very well be problematic.
One solution for later model gassers would be to order two 90 degree bends along with the meter of straight hose then use straight connectors to join everything together.

The 2 top hoses that have 90 degree bends are now just large radii instead.

The 2 low hoses do the same. Just make sure the pipe you use is reinforced and it won't fold.

Terrible picture I know, but I took it last week for another reason!
