Hy guys ,

Need some help. i Bought a GRO GEAR TRANS 10W40 to change the gearbox oil but my doubt is how much oil to put ? read some people say that is 900ml but want to be sure that is that value.
Cant find my bike Datasheet.
Thanks a lot

Yes the sight glass on the clutch cover will show you, but you need to give it some time for the oil to flow into the window and you may need to tip it to the right to get out air bubbles if the oil is not warm.

The sight glass is to monitor oil quality, not quantity.
I've been using a full quart of oil in all my GasGas'.

ok thanks for the information. i put 900 ml, its a little bit challenging process the access is not very good. but start the bike and get a little ride and everything was ok .

FYI when the bike is delivered from the factory it comes with about 150ml of oil in it. the dealer will drain this and fill it as part of the put-together process.
When i got my 2010 i got it from the wholesaler in the crate, he included a litre and told me there was usually very little oil in it from the factory. I put the bike together, looked at the sight glass and could see oil so went and ran it in. It did make some funny noises lol

I replaced the oil and was wondering where the rest of the oil was (oops!) anyway the clutch and gearbox was still perfect when i sold it with about 400hrs of hard enduro type riding

Re: access, lean your bike over onto a work bench (or against a wall) so that it is resting on the end of the handlebar.

Put a funnel in the oil filler opening, and pour away. Because your bike is leaning at an angle, the funnel is almost vertical or "straight up".

Works good for me!

Yes next time gona do that, normal position is very hard to control the oil to the filter

It depends on how it is used. Normal trail riding about 15 hrs. If it is ridden very hard, or over technical terrain (lots of clutch work) or playing submarine I change it after that ride. Try to never leave it with water in the oil. The sight glass will show milky / cloudy oil when it has been contaminated with water.

I was always 10hrs max, and ran belray gearsaver and had no issues for over 300hrs (then sold the bike)

For filling i hara piece of hose attached to the end of my funnel that would squeeze into the fill hole - then had a wire hook on the funnel so i could attach it to the frame and filling became a breeze. People with access to machining have made a threaded connection on the pipe end so it can even be threadded onto the fill hole
