Every year over the winter, I pull my muffler apart and repack it. I haven't had the pipe off in 3 years. This winter I took it off to do some cleanup and was surprised to see how much oil came out when I hung the pipe up. Now it probably wasn't that much, but by the time it splashed around, it felt like a hundred milliliters (3.5 ounces for you imperialists).
I ride mostly single track and never really get on the pipe so it makes sense that oil would plate out in the pipe, much like the puddle of oil that normally sits in the crankcase. I also use a high flashpoint synthetic oil at 40:1 so there will be excess lubrication.
I do like the fact that the muffler stays oily; it is a breeze to clean up when repacking. No need to do any torch work to remove carbon. I repack every year due to the late season riding in cold temperatures. The muffler never heats up enough to drive out the exhaut condensation so the packing gets damp and loses it's effectiveness.
I don't mind that the Q Stealth is big heavy unit since it does a good job and has a spark arrestor.
