The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a recall for closed-course/competition off-road motorcycles from Husqvarna due to a crash hazard. As directed in the recall, consumers should stop using the product and contact a Husqvarna dealer to schedule a free repair.

Approximately 260 units are involved in the recall, four models including the CR125, WR125, WR250 and WR300. The impacted units were sold nationwide from October 2012 through June 2013 for between $6,300 and $7,100.

According to the CPSC, the motorcycle?s throttle cable can malfunction so the rider looses speed control, posing a crash hazard. No injuries have been reported.

The Husqvarna motorcycles are white, red and black. The model number is printed on the rear fender on both sides of the motorcycle just below the taillight end of the seat. Consumers can identify the model year by checking the letter in the 10th position of the VIN on the right side of the steering head. The letter D is a 2013 model.

Consumers can contact Husqvarna Motorcycles at 888/985-6090 or online at www.husqvarna-motorcyclesna.com and click on Support/Aftersales for more information.
