I dont have 6th gear

I bought a very clean ec 300. Rode it around the yard, played on a hill or two, seemed great. Took it out 3 or 4 times and love it. Then I did a dualsport ride and on the road section I went to grab 6th gear and....nothing. I have 5 but no 6th. I never thought to check but are all GG 6 speeds or do some come with only 5. If all 6 speed any recommendations on what to look for?
Thanks 99% of my riding is 1-3 tight Ohio woods so I don't need it but I like my stuff to be right.

I was under the impression that all EC have six speeds, and the MC has four speeds. Are you willing to pull the right side case cover and look at the shift star to see how many positions it has? I forget, but is there a "shift pattern" cast into the left case near the shift lever shaft? I know that Honda likes to put the shift pattern on the outside of the engine, I can't remember if GG did it or not.

Very curious, indeed. Any shifting problems besides the missing cog?

The MC from 02 back have 4 speed tranys unless someone has changed it

Oh man! Can you put the 4 speed set in the 6 speed case? That would be great for a snowbike!!

Never had any shifting problems at all. Nothing more than a little metal goo on drain plug. I did not know about taking the right side off but will check the left side to see. Has anyone else had this happen?

Pulling the right side cover will allow you to see the shift drum. There may be a metal burr on the shift star, locking out 6th gear.
