Idling

Hi guys my 2009 ec125 doesn't seem to idle very well .. keeps cutting out unless I gently open the throtte .. anyone got any advice to setting up the idle screw.?

Also it doesn't cut out when the choke is pulled .. but obviously can't ride it like that lol .. can the throttle cable be tightened .?

You can adjust the throttle cable in the top of the carb and by the twist grip if it's the same as my 300.

If it doesn't cut out when the choke is pulled you might find the choke is faulty. Did it idle before and suddenly change? If so that indicates something has failed. Post a video maybe?

Umm the choke seems to be doing its job if I'm honest ..
I've only had the bike a few weeks ain't managed to get out on it tidy yet lol

Also I've read online that 2 strokes aren't meant to idle for long .? Are yours like that or have u set them so they can tickover nice an easy ..
Last thing which way to turn the idle screw to increase the idle .?

Idle screw is in the middle of the carb, in increases idle, out decreases (right is in, left is out).

2 strokes should idle consistently when properly hot (after a run, not on the stand). If it idles for a bit then dies it is too rich, if the revs take a long time to drop to idle, or it cuts out unexpectedly, lean / check for at leaks

Air screw is at the airbox side of the carb, in makes it richer, out makes it leaner. Don't bother making any adjustments unless you've ridden it and it's properly hot.
