I really like the ec300 2012 onwards, and am slowly getting towards having enough money to buy one. Given the current uncertainty is the ec300 still a good buy, Parts will be no problem but resale and tech support?

Gasser resale value is never good.
But you are buying used and the seller takes that hit.
Youll ride the rest of that hit outta the bike.
So Id say go for it.

Tech support right here.
These guys know whats up.

I just bought a 2015 250 without any doubts.

I purchased a crank rebuild kit for my 2011. Every part was in stock.

I have been able to get parts from Twowheels (Steve) on the forum I have not needed anything lately but last year we found out my linkage was all busted so we where able to get the replacement parts from him no problem and very quick!

bomb proof

I have to say I have ridden the wheels off of my '14 XC300R and it has been a very dependable bike. Only one odd problem that was taken care of immediately by GasGas/GoFasters.

This forum is an unbelievable resource for the brand. If you want to do something to your Gasser, someone on here has already done it and has pictures. ;-)

I understand your trepidation given the recent announcements. Use it as bargaining power to get the seller to go lower on the price and then ride it like you stole it!

Just bought a 13 a few months back. Almost pulled the trigger on a 14 but decided against it. The 300 is a great bike. I have came to the conclusion that it won't have any resale so we will ride it until it's dead. Great bike, good for a buyer and owner. Bad for the seller.

My next bike will be a YZ250x. I'm done with the smaller companies. Love the Beta but I'm sticking to the big 4.

I really like the bikes and am more than likely to go for an ec300, it really is a question of what the bikes are worth with the current situation, dealers are still asking in excess of 10k NZD which is fine if the brand lives on under new ownership but expensive if the brand disappears. I am looking at 2012 possibly 2013 but what now is a fair price?

Any news on the potential new owners of the GAS GAS brand?

Great bikes and love mij 13.
However if i have to pay for a new bike, then the Financial problems at Gasgas spain were certainly a serious reasons not tot buy.
But on resale you can buy very cheap and then it is word every penny.

You would have to be an absolute idiot to post something like that! It always amazes me how people have zero consideration for others.

If you're so bent on having this attitude why are you trolling on here still? Just close the door on it and move on Bob!

This is not attacking an idea.
The guy is entitled to his opinion.
If their is an issue with the spirit of the comment as it concerns the brand then the moderator or webmaster can handle that business.

Prices that I have seen here in Aus haven't dropped much if any at all.

I'll put $10 on Triumph.

They are very good bikes regardless of the manufacturers situation. I was in the same boat, undecided because of the current state of GasGas. Having never ridden one, or knowing anyone who had experience with one, I went out and bought a brand new 14' 200. I was not afraid to take the risk. I've already pulled the bike apart, ordered some spare gaskets / hardware, and have not had any issues getting minor parts for the bike. Im not at all worried about getting anything for my bike when the time comes. Am I an idiot? Probably to some, but I DGAF. Grab your nuts and pull the trigger, or go buy a pumpkin! :D

Bahahahaha...took me a second go deduce DGAF, but think your post is spot on. I'm trying to talk my buddy into throwing down on this bike: http://www.gasgasrider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=19699.

I'm just about to do the top end on my '11 200 and haven't had a single problem getting the parts I need.

I'll buy another one when the time is right too :D

I have a 14 and it is a great bike, absolutely love it. But IF the company goes 100% under and no one picks up the pieces, you and we will be in a bad situation. Not only will we have a hard time finding parts, but the bikes will become worthless overnight.

Just saying guys, sometimes you got to think with your brain and not your heart.

This is a good example of why buying a slightly used gasser makes sense.
More value in that bike for the money then you can find anywhere else.
Gassers are typically vet owned and given much love and less abuse and overall seat time..
Most get dolled up to some degree or other.
The bike will be still be worth $2500 ish in 5 years.
