ISDE... Very few Gassers

About 350 entrants and I think 8 Gassers or so I counted. Pathetic. I think there were more TM's. Beta was represented by ~ 40. Quite a few riders were on Sherco. Is our brand really in such decline? Goodness, this the brand's bread and butter. What am I missing?

Don't think gasgas lay on a very competitive package for visiting riders that don't take their own bike, or the other bigger companies have more money to throw at the ISDE.

I don't know much but the Canada team is taking down their personal bikes that many are owned by their own riders with little or no sponsorship.
How to get a bigger presence on the starting grid is a tough one, but I do know in North America the factory support of dealerships to supply bikes is non existent , so it's up to the little dealers to support riders , and that's hard to compare to what Ktm is capable of.

Suspect it's indicative of the current state of the worldwide economy and wouldn't read too much into it. Maybe the ISDE doesn't generate enough GG sales for it to be worth investing in ? Could even be a positive in the sense that GG is adapting to the economic climate and being carefully managed for a change ?

From a British perspective, so far as I know, we have no riders there because the industry and our governing body haven't come up with the money to send a team. It's not as if we are short of talented riders.

This thread won't last long

Sweeper,

Posts will get deleted when folks don't treat each other with complete respect -and on a *very* rare occasion - for legal reasons...

The reason for banning is the same - lack of respect for others is the primary cause. The number of folks that have been banned here and "talking smack" that came before it can be counted on one hand.. Three or four in approx 15 years...

Please send me a PM if you don't have a full understanding of the above.
