Klotz benol question

Been looking at trying this benol oil, I've seen some good reviews on it, thought I would give It a go and order some from the states, but what I ordered was benol bc172, can someone tell me what the bc172 is? As I've also seen bc175

Man o man be careful using that stuff. The problem with Benol is it won't stay mixed with the fuel and if you ever have to put anything other than that in your bike it will turn into a big gelatinous clump of goo. Peoe use it because it smells good and lubricates decent but it gums up everything and makes a nasty mess of your engine. The 172 has a little lower flashpoint than the 175

I may have told you wrong about the 172 and 175 numbers. BC-172 is quarts and BC-175 is pints. See the Link http://www.klotzlube.com/Ecommerce/site/content/PDFs/TECH/BC-175-Tech-Sheet.pdf In the MSDS sheet you will see that it has a relatively high flash point as well so be prepared for some spooge!

It is a full castor oil so be very careful about mixing with any type of ester based oils. As far as the gumming of parts I mentioned good luck. Some people say that they have never had it and others have. I used to run Maxima 927 which is a castor oil and it made a mess of my powervalve. I try to stick with the full synthetic ester oils now and they seem to run a whole lot cleaner.
