KTM EXC 450 2008 to EC250 2010

I want your opinion on me trading my KTM for a low hour EC250 2010.

The four stroke is tiring in the tight stuff but way better when out in the open. I used to have a EC250 2008 which I liked but didn't ever get the suspesion dialled. This will be a straight swap. Is it worth it?

Assuming that you're talking about a two-stroke 250 I can't believe the deal isn't already done! You'll love the 2010 Gasser.

Yeah its a 2 stroke, it has a skid plate, rad braces and one of those hand made exhausts. I just am worried on the after sale value of the GG compared to the KTM.
I have ridden the 2010 racing model and found the suspension too stiff.

Will the newer model be suitable for hare scrambles and natural MX tracks?

Thanks

2008 was the first year KTM went to the split oil system with the new motor for the EXC (and XCW in the US). Plenty of ongoing problems/issues with that motor and if you ask me it's a ticking time bomb. Trade it ASAP for the GG and let the new owner worry about the huge repair bill when it self destructs. Trust me GG resale wont look so bad when you see the price to fix a blown KTM motor (or any 4 stroke motor really).

Note...I'm no KTM hater at all and have no ax to grind like so many. It's just that motor was not one of KTM's better efforts and probably was put into production to soon. The 2010 version is better but personally I still wouldn't touch one. Their 250 motor and the big SXF motors are great.

The previous owner had done all the engine mods, updated to 2010 specs and had done only 10 hours before he sold it to me.
I just added the Dirt Tricks tensioner, I can say i am surprised at the agility the 450 has but still no comparison to the GG250.
I know I can go much faster on the EC in the tight stuff, I just couldn't get it dialed for bigger hits due to the front forks. Do the 2010 Sachs forks take big hits as well as the WP's, and in your opinion what other improvements over the 2008 Gasgas models are worthwhile noting?.
