KTM sorks and wheels

After receiving my 2002 XC300 WP forks from LTR yesterday and knowing what I know of my forks (seized this, inoperable that), I am going to buy a replacement set from a friend. However, they are off of a 2001 KTM MXC250. But, we have exchanged emails and the dimensions appear identical so I am willing to give it a shot. The question I have is that since I use the same forks, that would logically conclude that we share the same wheels. Knowing that the front is the same between the 2001 MXC250 and my XC300, would that lead to the conclusion that the rear wheel would fit, too? I know that I really should relace my wheels, both front and back, but I might be better off buying these good condition wheels.

Here is his ad, does the price on wheels seem fair? We have reached a deal on the forks, but I haven't mentioned the wheels. I have found these same wheels on ebay for about half his price, but the condition of the wheels is the deciding factor. How much should I negotiate and what would you be willing to pay for the wheels? The "no rotors or sprocket" is kind of off-putting, as those costs add up pretty quick. So, fair deal, or what should I offer?

Edit- I just realized that I misspelled "forks" in the title. Dang it.

Are you sure the front wheels are the same (axle, t clamp dimensions etc)? There is a long thread here where they were putting showas on a GG and it sounded like a real adventure!

Have fun!! :)

Apparently 2002 GasGas 43mm WP's are the same as 2001 KTM 43mm WP's, at least according to our measurements. Same dimension from axle to top of fork, same outer dimensions, same everything. Worst case is I can transfer everything from the good forks (his) to the bad forks (mine). I'll ask him to bring the wheel, too, just because. Oh, and I am just sliding the new forks into my existing clamps, so offset, trail, and everything else should be the same.

forks yes, clamps no,, the wheel is different width. The triple clamps have a different offset depending on which offset clamps the KTM had.. every model has a different one on KTM.. and some even have several same model.. The GG is 20 or 22mm offset and the forks are not as far apart as the ktm(not as wide a clamp/wheel) but from what I have seen all but the wheel and axle fit. The axle can be cut down on a lathe to fit. I ran 97ktm 45conv zokes on my 97 GG as they were better lowers. I could not use the KTM wheel then either..
