i have just been looking at the crossover lists and seen that kx fenders should fit my gasgas. Has anyone successfully done this? any problems? any pics of your gas gas with kx plastics would be appriciated, cheers

Yep, 1998 KX250 plastic rear fender and side number plates.

Fit, (for the most part) pretty good. Not as clean of a fit as the
original plastics, but, acceptable.
DAMN. I take that picture back. That is the stock plastic right
before I replaced it.....sorry. They are so close I could'nt tell
for a minute.
I can get a new pic for you if you like. Lemme know.

Yes, It' a 1998. This one came out of the shop of MotoWest several years
ago. Steve may be able to confirm the story, but, from what I was told
this used to be an (ex-race) bike that was used or sponsered by MotoWest.
Steve adapted it with a complete wiring harness to make it street legal.
It's a great bike and a hoot to ride.
Like I said, I can take some updated pictures if anyone would like.
With some luck, she, should be wearing some new 17" SuperMoto shoes
sometime in the next few months.
Cheers, Jeff in So. Cal.

Nice ride! Make me want to go work on my 97 250 tonight! Mine is also street legal, and black.. but partially apart at the moment.. Maybe it will be in one piece by the weekend..

Jeff,
So that motor has the counter ballance unit? Must be like riding with a 35hp electric motor

Yes it does, and yes it is. So smooth it is hard
to believe it's a two stroke. It is way smoother
than my Honda XL350R. Right now, I believe it
is running 13/47 or 13/45 gearing. I would like
to take it a bit higher if I can. To cruse in the
sweet spot below where the power valve wants
to open is right around 52-55MPH. It does like
to have a bit of throttle, or it surges in the
lower gears with the throttle just cracked open.
It is definitely not being stressed by the way I
ride it on the street. (Old, fat & slow) ya know?
Thanks for the compliments. More picts to
follow when it becomes a full SuMo.
Jeff

I had a 90 Yamaha WRA250 that belonged to Allan Roach, of Baja Designs fame that was street legal. MT 21's front and rear and a heavy Moose flywheel....it was so much fun it should have been outlawed...enjoy

My '98 EC250 with the c/b motor and stock Messico pipe was super smooth. With the right gearing it was perfect for tight, gnarly trails. The stock pipe couldn't take much abuse and even with an c/f pipe guard it didn't take long to look like an empty Budweiser can at a frat party. I put a Motowest pipe on the bike which really perked up the low-end power. There were times I really missed the smooth power delivery of the Messico pipe, but the Motowest pipe was much more dent resistent.

so the rear fender will fit an 06 ec200? and what year yzfront fenders work? i know the crossover list says 02 onwards but when looking at fenders i find all sorts of options such as 00-05, 00-03 but no 02 onwards. cheers for all the help

The rear should fit as I have one on my 02 with 06 side pannels. I have always had to drill new holes to get a non gg front to work so ant year would probably work. The Kx stuff goes for cheap on Ebay.

does the kx rear fender have the mounting holes for the cdi?? because ive just took my rear fender off and realised the cdi is mounted onto the back of the fender
