Looking for a 125

Not IL but I'll have a KX 125 soon. I'm cleaning it up and going over everything for a buddy. I could probably get it your direction in march.

I don't know much about it. Friend of mine bought it. Didn't like the 125 lightswitch power and got a NOS 2006 CRF250. Was actually a brand new bike sold to a soldier who was deployed and lost his life. Sitting at the dealer stored but never delivered.

The KX is a 2002 I'll be going over the bike before it gets sold so anything questionable will be replaced. I'll get photo's once it hits my garage.

I'll know more when It's in my hands

Thats nice. Depending on the type of riding a 200 would be better than a 125. Although a 125 will teach a kid a lot.

Interestingly my oldest son's first bike was a RM125. He did great although the learning curve was steep he did it well. My second son i don't think I'd put him on a 125. Just not as coordinated as my oldest but I'd put him on that 200.

I just got the KX yesterday. It'll get a once over this week then a parts order. Top end is supposed to be recent (but aren't they all?). I'm not doing it. Compression seems good and owner just wants it gone through and bring it up to snuff. So all fluids changed. Bearings check and replaced or greased. Need trips etc. all the little neglected stuff. Plastics and graphics are in good shape.
