Besides the very expensive Ohlins oil the manual recomends anyone have any suggestions for oil in an LTR reworked set of 46mm Ohlins?

Paul,

Ask the man himself, I'm sure he'd be happy to tell you. I think he prefers Spectro. I used Honda SS7 (5W) in mine and it was fine.

I used bell ray 5wt that the local dealer had in stock. The bike has that magic combo of plush yet firm that I love. Rode it back to back with an 08 xcw 300 with subtanks and a full TBT treatment. In my biased opinion my 02 with thousands of miles on it gave up nothing to the new KTM except 20 pounds and that little button on the bar.

I use AmsOil fork oil.

The stock oil in the '06 Shiver forks very closely matched the medium fork oil viscosity, so I use the AmsOil medium fork oil in my '06 Shiver forks and it works very well.

In my '01 LTR valved WP forks I run a 50/50 mix of the AmsOil medium and light fork oils and it works well. The light oil by itself was too light allowing for an overly quick rebound even with the clickers cranked way in. That is why I went to the 50/50 mix.
