Mecasystem Sump Guard Fitment

Hi, I have purchased a sump guard/skid plate for my 08 ec300 but they have sent one for a 2010-11 model.

They insist it will fit and they have fitted it to other bikes but the screws are not square to the plate so they cannot tighten fully. Am I doing something wrong?

Motor needs a bit of a clean!

Dunno about the skidplate, but were those crankcases born at the same time? or is it the photo?. Checking mine tommorrow

Just checked and looks fine, weird photo angle!

Have you dented the bottom of your frame? If you had, then it could cause the plate to seat weird down by the linkage of whever the hook thing site, you may have to massage the plate to fit. The frame rails that your trying to put the clamps on hasnt changed on the new bikes so the distances for the holes in the plate and the size and shape of the clamps should be ok

Frame rails are fine, it's very strange! Waiting on the supplier to get back to me about it.

Supplier got back to me - they're getting a pre 2010 one in for me as Meca confirmed it needs to earlier model.

EDIT: new sump guard arrived for pre-2010 model and it fits fine!
