Texas gets their own area and the Middle of the country gets relegated to Other? Doesn't seem fair, but it is funny.

Just another uptight Minnesota Monkey with nothing else to complain about!

Sorry - I am from the "left coast" - what is the midwest? ;)

You have your forum now - now go post something there! And being the grumpus that you are - try not to make the first one a complaint about something!!! :)

Republic of Texas

It was funny and gasgasman spent the last decade organizing national enduros. Spending countless hours helping put on national enduros and promoting the sport. I figured he deserved his own turf.

Here is a map to help establish the boundary lines for West vs. East Coast. :D

Hey Jeff,

How about this idea...
Western USA = West of the Rocky Mountains
Central USA = between the Rocky Mountains and Mississippi River
Eastern USA = East of the Mississippi River
You could also add these definition into the titles to help establish the boundaries.

The issue with "Midwest" is folks in Nebraska are Central not Midwest and I'm more Eastern than Midwest. Rather than creating many segments... how about just using West, Central, and East... kind of like the time zones?

Central sounds like mid-pack to me, so it's where I'm usually at. Perfect.

Jeff, I'd like to post something in the new spot, but I've got nothing useful to add.:D

Upcoming trail ride

I don't think it actually counts if you just move it into the section.

However, in other news. August 19-20 is one of the best trail rides around Minnesota. Located in the Paul Bunyan State Forest near the hamlet of Akeley. At least 100 miles of trails total and most of it is singletrack. I'll get more info when I can find it.

I would prefer a "North Central" category, since Minnesota has a large percentage of the Gas Gas bikes in the central region. :p

killergasser - shhhhh! Don't tell everyone about Akeley... keep it for ourselves. It's too good to share. ;)

I've got pictures of some of the trails at Akeley on my website. They're older pics, but you get the jist of the terrain.

Sorry guys. I give you directions and then I move.

I am in the process of revamping the photos section of my website.

Akeley pictures are here now.

The trails in the Paul Bunyan are some of the best trails I have been on and, if I don't say so myself, the group of guys who maintain them are top notch.

Seriously, Killergasser is right. If you are in MN find the Martineau trail system and spend a day on our trails. Give these guys some of your money and they'll give you a good lunch and a nice place to camp while you're there - ride out of camp to the trails. Just don't come after November, we're hibernating.:D
