Moto cabin/camp gift idea

So here in a few weeks I'm flying out to CA to ride with a buddy. I'll be riding one of his orange 300's and staying at his friends cabin up in the Piute's for 5 days of moto. Sounds like the cabin is mainly used as a moto camp and is pretty spartan with solar shower, outhouse, genny power when needed. But, it's in a primo spot for riding access, and my friend knows it well!

I want to bring something out with me as a gift to donate to the cabin since I already feel guilty that I'll be abusing someone else's bike for 5 days, and I want to be invited back! I was thinking of maybe one of those portable roll up solar panels or maybe a nice hammock. I'm trying to keep it small enough to be able to pack it with me but I guess I could have it shipped there as well.

Anyone have any ideas of what a moto camp might need. Smallish but useful tools?

Cash always fits, perfect color and size.
I am sure some expense is involved in keeping the property...nothing else gas for the generator

If they have a constant source of water and a electricity generator, you can get them a small compact portable power jet washer.

Cleaning the bikes after each ride has it's benefits. One overlooked by many is that it's always nice to start each morning ride with a clean bike, isn't it ?

p.s. great friends you have up there, make sure to fill them bellies with ice cold beer!

You definitely need to post a report from that trip - sounds outstanding :cool:

If it were me, I'd bring a couple things. The first would be a good bottle of whisky to share for the trip. If you're not a whisky drinker, then something else of taste.

How far of a trek is it to get things like ice or groceries? If it's fairly remote and most everything is run off solar; I'd look at a Yeti, K2, Pelican, or other high-end cooler. Something to be said about being able to drink an ice cold beer (or several) after a long day of riding...and have your beer still be ice cold after 4-5 days.

If refrigeration isn't an issue, then your idea of the small solar panels is great too - something that keeps electronic gear charged and doesn't draw from their main solar source would be great. Along those same lines - maybe some solar lighting, like a solar motion light or similar stuff for any outside activities once the sun goes down.

Have a great time - sounds like an epic trip :D:D

Thanks guys. I was already planning on springing for the booze and food. Sounds like there are several hammocks there already. I think we'll be pretty far from groceries so cold beer and cocktail ice will be crucial.

I'm not sure of the water supply, I'll have to look into that although there's probably not a lot of mud around out in CA right now:eek:

Here's some items I would bring. Stuff that is very handy when you run out.

Plastic "silver ware".
BBQ lighters.
Extra tooth brushes.
