Need help on bar positions, please

I'm still pretty new to this Gas Gas thing, so bear with me, please.

I bought my bike (an '07 300) used & am just now getting to ride it much. the prior owner was a giant; he had the bar raised up with a sub-mount for the Scott's damper. now that I am finally getting to ride my bike >1 X per year, this is bugging me to the point that I am ready to fix it. I put on a much lower bar, which was better but still too tall, so I got rid of the tall sub-mount set-up.

I talked to BRP about getting a top mount for the Scott's, which is 1" lower. the guy wants to know what postion I have the bar mounted in, 1,2,3 or 4. I don't know which is which; I have the bar in the forward mount holes, & there is a big washer under each of the mounts. but the mounts themselves look identical to me, i.e. not reversible to change reach or height.

What am I missing here?

thanks

John

Stock mount bases are symetric, so the only adjustment is which hole you have them mounted in.

Thanks, Glenn, I guess I'll have to do that--I just got off the phone again with BRP, & they keep insisting that there are 4 positions.

I put a sub-mount damper on my 300 EC a few days ago and the clamps did look like the bolt on the bar clamp was off-set. The off-set was very very little but it was off-set.

They might be right. I think the '07 OEM bar perches have a 3mm offset. At a glance they look symetrical but there not. Easy enough to tell, just pop off your bars and measure the bolt center to each edge F&R. I have the Fastway on my '12 because I wasn't sure what position I would like best. Nice part.
