Would like to know where to find a larger stator for my 05 EC300. The 35 watt stator just don't do the job and if anybody knows what is involved installing one.

You need the 2K-3 stator/flywheel. Bolts right on. Also good info here on DC conversions if you paln to go that route. Post your 2K-2 for a trade maybe someone will bite.

Stator and flywheel are a direct interchange 2K2 vs 2K3. If you upgrade (?) to 2K3 you have to use the matching flywheel.
My kid has the 2K3. I run the 2K2. We both like the performance each delivers for our own riding style (quite a difference in my OPINION). But we don't need high power lights for night riding.
Everything will bolt up and plug in. You just need a KX flywheel puller. Piece of cake :)

Stator

So I'll need your stator and fly wheel and you will need mine correct. I could get a flywheel puller from my local shop. Here's my phone number so we talk direct. 570/645/8589 Thanks Rich

Any Kokusan 2K-x (2 stroke ignition) puller will work as well (KTM, YZ, etc.).

The '08 will have a different harness/connector, but the wire colors will be the same. Tnttimber, don't remove your system and ship it with the connector to the CDI, you will need it. There may be some bullet connectors between the CDI and stator, but I'm not sure. You may have to cut and splice five wires, no big deal. Also send the timing insert key that locates the stator in one of the mounting slots. The 2K-2 has no timing key insert. An easy way to time the 2K-2 that I have found is to install an M5 cap screw with an M5 washer into the now unused 2K-3 mounting hole at the approx 2 o'clock position. Rotate the 2K-2 stator plate counterclockwise until the edge (in the cutout portion) contacts the washer, tighten down and your set.
