I am trying to get my 2000 ec 300 to perform like an animal, I want the front wheel to raise into the air purely using the throttle and stay there. I want to open the throttle and hold on for dear life, could anyone advise me on what needle to buy to aid this and contact details of the supplier. Thanks to all Clark.

I hear the N1EF is violent. Also, you might want to put this into the Intake section. I think you should do the RB head and carb mods to get it more violent, and the lighter igntion.

Do you still have the reed spacer? if so removing it will help.. also,, a little more info on what set you have now,, what mods are done,, what pipe, pv cover done?? If you go with a 250 cdi do not use an 03 250 cdi,, they had the smoothest cdi mapping,, look for a cdi from a 2000 era xc,, or the mc(I think the same) and go to the lighter ignition.. Those things if not done yet will help to get it "non-user friendly" if thats what your looking for.. also a mx type pipe,, fatty fmf..

If I'm not mistaken,, advancing the ign softens the hit? Somebody else remember? Do you have the LTR jet kit? It helped my 03 wake up.. Also which pipe do you have?? The fmf fatty gives it more kick,, also if you can find one the motowest pipes were very good.. What is your gearing?

FMF Fatty is the same as a Gnarly just with lighter gauge steel. The FMF is good for bottom end and a viloent mid but falls flat after that. The stock 06 GG pipes are very good all around pipe. Advanced timming makes smoother bottom end. Try re-tariding the timming. Also, try a LTR powervalve cover and 13:50 gearing will all help you.

The OP has a 300,, and is looking for more power,, thats why I said the fmf pipe.. I like the messico the best on my 03 and the motowest prototype I had on my 97 when I got it.. wish it wasnt to mashed to repair.. Might have to rebiuld it this winter.. got me a new mig.. could play with the pipe and patch it some more..
Also to clerky clerk,, when was the last time you did a top end or clutch? if a 300 feels soft could it be down on compression,, or a clutch slipping?

My '01 XC300 and '03 EC300 would really take off with a 178 main, 40 pilot, N1EF needle (#2) and a #7 slide. This really worked best with the shorty-silencer which, IMHO, was no louder than the stock FMF silencer.

Hi, and thanks for the replies. My bike has 14:50 gearing, the gnarly pipe, and carbon vforce cage and reeds, The problem im having is getting an Ltr jetting kit, I have emailed Les on several occasions at Lt racing but with no reply, the problem is I live in Wales UK. Could any body help me get hold of 1. and will an oversize pv cover really make a difference?

One issue on power is the gearing,, that will make it feel flatter.. The stock is 13-48 which is very tall and good for a ds,, a 300 should have 13-48to 50 to get the right feel. There is another thread on gearing a 300.. I dont know how hard it would be to get the ltr needle in the uk.. can you get the jd kits there?

Note: My 03 250ec w/13:48 gearing topped out at 87 mph, so 14/50 should be around 95+?

Drop the front sprocket down to a 13 if you really want to hold on for dear life.

IME the LTR "jet kit" and the CCK needle smooth out the power delivery while the N1EF provides more of a hit. I prefer a smooth power delivery as it doesn't tire me out as much.

13:50 works fine on my 250 but i am not sure about a 300. Still it would be cheap to try. Also, i found the Powervlave cover to make a big difference. As for getting those parts go through Gofasters.com

Will do, I'll put a 13 on the front and leave the 50 on the back. As for it topping 95 it doesnt, it tops out at 80, but thats on the sand,( quite wobbly). Thanks to all for the advise, I have just purchased the N1EF needle, just need the 250 cdi now and a lighter fly wheel. Are the flywheel weights welded or bolted on the ec300, (theres always the grinder).

Depends on what igntion you are running. If you are running the 2K3 then you will not be able to lighten it up without a new flywheel nless shipped off to a realy doog machinest who can keep the balance.
