I just recieved a new '07 EC300 today. I am getting it ready for a Cycle Canada magazine test this weekend here in Alberta. I took some pics of it and posted in the Photo Gallery. As you can see this one came with an Ohlins shock, but my dist told me that they will be coming with a Sachs on the next batch. The only difference between my '06 and this one is the rear sub frame, the colour, the air box, seat, and the rear fender/number plate combo. Everything else looks the same. The bike came with all the emmission crap on it so I had to remove and replace some things. Still has the street legal stuff on it too! I plan on breaking it in tomorrow so it is jetted and ready for the test.

Thanks for the pics Claude very interesting as the Canada specs are same as ours in Australia I think. Air box access looks better is twin air filter standard issue or did you add, nice to see we get the led rear light pity about the huge plate holder. Did you add the pipe gaurd or is that a factory item. What do you think about the red color? Very interested in your first ride report on front fork mods motor etc. Bikes not arriving here untill November some time. Looks like great riding country you have there.

Andrew.

Claude, are those riding pics up in the Ghost? The pic of the long cut-line hill looks like something I've slogged up and down in the winter. I'm an ice climber as well as motohead. I spend a few weeks every Feb up in Canmore. Sure hope they keep that area open for all users!! Cheers/Mike

The bike is completly stock as is. My favourite colour actually is yellow but the red is better than the blue. I got the pipe guard with my '06 also. The grass looks good because we finally got some rain(snow) last week. I can't disclose where we were riding in case SRD is monitoring and they try to close another trail to us, but we are fighting as a clubhttp://www.rockymountaindirtriders.com/
to get the Ghost open again. I will keep you posted on the test after the weekend.

I really like the new plastics and seat. The color is nice but the rad cover graphics are very poor. The rear light is cool but the plate holder is extremely ugly and probably wouldn't last long. I also noticed they put the horn outside of the front plate.

That's a good looking bike. Looks like U could use a jigsaw or dremel and cut that recessed looking outline above and have just enough room to mount a plate. I really like the extra room to install air filter and the one bolt seat attachment. Thanks for the pics Claude.

Man those bikes look nice! Anyone know if GasGas is still making the 200 for 07? I didn't see it listed on the OEM site.

Word on the street is that the 200 is based off the 125.
If it is true, that would be my next bike.

Do you realize that the Gas Gas 200/250/300 engine has been around for 10 years?
That's XR400 like.

Yea there is a perfect groove to follow when you want to cut it out. We have to mount our plates on the front # plate here in Alberta for OHV use so the rear mount is useless. The air filter is a new part so any extra ones you have from older models would not work. I think.

Well I just crated back up the '07 EC300 to send to Vancouver. I didn't get to ride it at all. I got this inner ear thing this week and my balance was out of wack, so I dropped off the bike and the guys tested it all weekend. I haven't talked to them about it but I will and update anything I find out.

I think that may be an error Claude. The EC200 Hobby will come with a Sachs shock, but all the ECs will still be Ohlins as far as I'm aware.

..and gasgasman...hate to be a downer, but I don't think the rumour are correct. Far as I know it's still based off the 250/300 chassis, just as it's always been. However I haven't seen one yet in the flesh, so could be wrong...but I don't think so
