New Boots Time

Its time for some new boots and need some recommendations.

I learned to ride bikes some years ago in gum boots ( large sports type boots ) and have never got used to hard MX boots that I can't feel the pegs or levers with. I know they offer probably the best protection but I am willing to compromise for something that you can walk & feel with, sort of half MX half Trials.
There are lots of new so called enduro boots out there but just seem to be MX boots with different soles attached. So.... I am after some recommendations for something a bit more "comfortable" if you like to go out and try a few on.

forma adventure, very comfy, very waterproof, grippy sole, nice compromise with exceptional comfort and decent feel, black or brown, some armor, did I mention comfort?only negatives are-scuff up a bit due to softer construction/less armor, slightly quirky styling, and because theyre so waterproof theyr a PITA to dry if u do manage to submerge them!
honestly make me smile when I put em on,theyre that good! 9/10.

i am also looking at new boots and it has come down to the forma or tech7. I think it will be the forma something new i have been in tech 8's for the last 10 years.

Garne SG 10's are a great boot, pricey, yes..... they breakin very easy, soles can be replaced along with just about every other part on the boot. These boots are an investment, not a comsumable throw away!

My favorite boot so far. They fit square feet, as opposed to A* and Sidi which fit narrow feet. However, Sidi would be my preferred if they fit my blocky feet, just because.

Well I guess you could say I have square feet.
I liked the Garne SG 10's, Trying on a pair was what convinced me I needed new boots.
Had a look on the Forma web site. The Terrain TX Enduro look OK and reasonably priced here in Aus. Anyone have an opinion on these?

I'm another wide-footer and swear by the Gaerne SG10's.

Tried other boots, but none of the other high-end boots fit me as well. On my second pair, and hope they don't change the production template any time soon.

The SG10's aren't really a 'half and half' boot. But I've come to the reality that I sacrifice feel, for protection, as I age.

Currently nursing a first-time dislocated shoulder, so my thoughts on not hurting myself may be biased ...

Just bought my 4th pair of Garne SG 10's. I was at a shop in the US one time that stocked all the lines of boots. Garne are the ticket for wide feet. Good lasting boot that you can ride in right out of the box.

How true, I find myself standing around in my boots after a ride wondering why everyone else is in bare feet.

I have a pair of Forma Dominator MX boots. They are the best boots I have ever owned and half the price of the Alpinestars they replaced. The hinge in the ankle makes a massive difference, and they're far more waterproof than any other boot I've worn.

+1 on gearne, went threw two pairs of sg10's now I'm using the sg12's and just an amazing boot that have saved my ankles a couple times. Can't put a price on that I think

The SG12's are good boot. Im on my second resole. Not to much water where i live so I prefer a boot with good ventilation. These have ok ventilation, so the sweat seems to puddle up in my boots. Makes for a nice smell if you forget them in your vehicle over night.

Went with a pair of black Forma Adventure so far very happy. Soles are holding up well without pivot pegs and very light, comfortable and easy to get around in , great traction. 9/10.

+1.
To me they seem to have enough strength and support for enduro plus I like to feel the pegs and levers. My injuries always seem to be around the back and ribs.

Second pair of SG10s. Favorite so far. Saved my ankles many times too Trev. A little heavy for my bad knees perhaps. For those who had both, any disadvantages to the 12s other than price. They are somewhat lighter.

On the Gearne boots, one of the mates have lost both the steel caps and the stitching is falling apart. He has been waiting now for a few weeks to get the caps which have not arrived so he has cut up some alloy BBQ tongs and tried to screw them on. But that wont fix the stitching problem. It is wet season in the tropics when everything takes its toll but out of eveyone I know only seems to be with these particular boots v water. Has anyone else had this problem?
