New EC300r owner.

Just joined the site and I'm pretty proud to say that I just purchased I lightly used 2012 EC300r from an old friend of mine today from here in NB Canada. Words can't describe my excitement over this bike!
A few questions: is their a legit fuel tank recall for the 2012 models in relation to the ethonal based fuels? Also, I'm aware that there's a lot of Japan crossover parts available for this bike like cr250 brake pads, yz250 kick starter (which I already put on the bike), etc. What other parts will work? Air filters? Wheels? Etc?
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanx.

Lol no, but I am considering it. Is it a recalled part? I'm really hoping that my 145 lb body is enough to keep it from breaking. But I think that I'm dreaming cause I hear that it doesn't take much to break those plastic sub frames.
 
I think the problem is overrated, I'm 200lbs with gear on and have flipped my bike a couple times. The subframe was always fine but I keep a spare one at home just in case. Not sure how many people actually broke the subframe, it's up to you.

Good luck with recalls. My AJP clutch master cylinder failed twice. It is a known production problem yet I had to pay for a replacement with my own money and it wasn't cheap.
 
There was the water pump impeller recall I believe, GoFasters helped me out with that.

I'm 6'4" and about 230 geared up. No sub-frame problems yet. I pretty much stand all the time though as well. I replaced my impeller with a checkpoint billet impeller. It's still had some clearance issues, but nothing a drill and some sandpaper didn't take care of.

My '12 has the Magura too.

Can someone give me the link to all the interchangeable parts from other brands? I've been looking all through this site but can't find any details on it. Thanx.

Also, does any one have the part number for the rubber grommets that hold the tank shrouds onto the rads?

GoFasters has microfiche, with part numbers, for most years of gassers.
 
don't worry about the subframe, I ride vet A and im 275lbs and my 13 has never gave me any trouble and ive crashed the hell outta my bike too.
