Hi all,
Just thought I'd say hello as I am a new member to this forum.
I used to ride enduros (in the Isle of Man) many years ago, on a kdx 175, before 'the other stuff that is life' got in the way.
Then in 2009 (aged 44) I picked up a gas gas txt 321 2001, to play on.
I had never really tried trials, but I knew it was a fantastic way to get fit again and have a laugh.
After a year or so, I went out to find a more modern bike.
I was supposed to be looking for another trials bike, but ended up with a Yammy wr250f.
(Oh dear, this was going to end with my love of mud rekindled, hahah )
It was one of those 'in a bike shop at xmas, oops' things.
I did however find a newer trials bike soon after. A 2010 txt pro 300.
Thats the 2001 behind it.
So I had the new gasser to play on and was enjoying the tight gnarly stuff like never before. (It just climbs anything it sees)
Attempting the same thing on the yammy though was leaving me cold (well, destroyed actually)
I know it isn't even remotely designed to do the same thing, but I had to try.
This led to some head scratching.
Is there an enduro based bike that would be a hoot to play with in the really tight almost trials like sections?
I asked a few people here on the Iom, Juan knight (he runs the gas gas imports here on the Island) and few others.
I trawled the forums, which is how I found this one, and the general opinion was the ec 300 is the weapon to have.
so last week:
I bagged a 2010 model for a song.
Now to see if it is fun in the tighty bits.
(Oh, btw, never belive what Juan says, like david, his Idea of:
"it's the docile one of the pack" is not what us mortals call docile!
Haha, It's like being strapped th a balistic missile. (what a rush).
Anyway, I'll report back on what it's like in the gnarly bits. (although I'm sure most people on here will know already).
Cheers
Baz
