New to the site and new to Gas Gas

Hey guys I just joined the site after weeks of looking. I just purchashed my first Gas Gas yesterday. I got a new 2010 EC 300. This is the first Gas Gas I have ever seen (in person) and my first look was through a slot cut in the cardboard box in the rear of the dealers truck. Once my son and I got it home and out of the crate we just stared for a while looking at the new beauty. Then it was time to assemble the few parts, check it over, add oil, gas and start the break-in. I let my son take the first ride. He was grinning big time and couldn't stop praising just how good it felt as the bike was sitting and cooling down. Next up was me and to cut to the chase...I have a new LOVE. The bike is so good it's hard to put it in words other than to say it's AWESOME. Feels so light, nimble, balanced, perfect fit, and then the smooooth power! So far the only thing I 've done was raise the idle speed. I haven't checked the sag or touched a clicker at this point. I/we will be putting some more time on it today then maybe start the dial in. I am rambling in my second post now but I just wanted to say hey and I hope to learn and share on this site.

Welcome John.

I must be living vicariously through you ,cause its not even my bike ,but hearing you talk about makes me excited for you .

New Bikes are great !

Thanks and I can't wait to get in the second ride today. LOL I went into the garage twice last night just checking in on her!

welcome john, i followed your decision to buy on thumpertalk, congrats theres alot of great people here to help with whatever youll need! i always get stoked to see someone get a new gasser and find out what its all about.

Thanks for the welcome and you can see I love the bike. I just got in from riding and then cleaning it up. I just can't get over how light and nimble the bike feels. Awesome machine.

I bought a 2003 EC200 a couple weeks ago and I feel the same way you do. I think a brand new 250 is in my future. Hopefully near future.

Congratulations on the new bike.

John welcome to the world of gasgas... I know the feeling of first owning one, of course my first and current gasgas was not brand new out of the box but I got just as excited after the first time I rode it. I have a 2001 Gasgas 250 that I got from a guy through a trade. I traded him a 2003 KLX400r, and in my opinion I am the one that got the better deal!

I am now in the market to get a brand new bike and I have already made my mind up to get another Gasgas. I just can not decide if I want a 250 or a 300. My brother and a few of my KTM riding buddies want me to get a KTM and if I did get a KTM I have the hookup on after market parts through Tucker Rocky (they hardly carry anything for Gasgas), but even after peer pressure and the option to get really cheap parts I am still dead set on getting a Gasgas.

I hear you jriley43 on not getting a KTM. My son had two KTM's and not to down another bike but they just didn't work for me or my son. I just came in from riding my GG and it's a total blast. A guy that works for me just got a new 2011 Kawasaki 450F MX bike. He rode my GG around for 30 minutes or so, took his helment off and said " I'll will trade you straight up right now, my Kaw 450 for your GG 300". I still have my GG and he's stuck with the green bike.
