Nissin rear brake question

Ok.....putting new pads in my rear brake that, like the rest of my bike, has been in pieces the last couple of months. I was sure I could remember how this stuff goes back together......WRONG! I am used to brembo so one of these 4 metal "retainers" or whatever they are called is giving me a problem. I got the two that go on the sides of the pads and the smallest one that bottom of the pads sit in.....but I just can't figure out how this last larger one goes. I have it in the only way I could figure out, but I don't see it's purpose and it looks sketchy. Thanks in advance. 2011 EC 300

thats not right, kinda looks upside down. they dont stick out, and the little fold on the end showing should kinda wrap around the caliper itself, ie in the picture looks upside down....
hope that helps, they can be real buggers to get right, on one of my bikes it was also bent outta shape which didnt help.

I think that its supposed to clip onto the underside of the caliper above the pads in the middle, and add preload to the pads so they don't rattle around. You should only be able to see a very small portion of the clip.
