Any Nor Cal GasGas riders going to the Sawmill Enduro next weekend?
I have plans of going providing it is still a "go".

Thanks

Kinda

Wife is riding the Crosscut...........which means I am riding the Crosscut.

Ok.....very cool, please post a report....if yoo can, we'll be watching the weather!!!

Thanks

Speaking of weather.... I always tease my wife that we will move to a place where the weather was near perfect year round. I was looking at the Weather channel averages and found Eureka, California. Highs in the 60-70 range and lows in the 40-50 range.

Sweet! We live in Gainesville Florida now where the winters dip into the 20's, but the summers from June-November (yeah, November... ) are ridiculous. Highs in the 90's-100's, 90% humidity.

I even started looking at housing out there. We have a while to go before we retire, but that doesn't mean I don't want to visit. As long as there are tracks and trails to ride I'm happy. :D

So to those who live in NorCal, how right are the "averages" I am seeing? How's the riding?

I wish! I really wanted to ride the Crosscut but I have anothher commitment I can't get out of :( . Oh well! Just got back from Jawbone so I'll survive not riding next weekend. Even saw a Gas Gas in the back of a pickup coming though Tehachapi.

Temps sound about right. Lots of fog during the winter. Riding would be 1.5-3 hours away at best. Unless you had access to some private land. Not high up the list of places to move with ridding as a priority. Now if you are looking to grow pot, you are moving into the capital of that.

 The pot probably would mellow me out too much and slow me down! :p

I guess I am spoiled: My home is on two acres, one heavily wooded where I have a mini endurocross course, a 15 acre rock garden 4 miles from here, a 15 acre sand track also 4 miles the other way, a 6 mile single track woods loop 20 miles away, a friend with a motocross sand track 1 mile away. 4 mile hare scramble loop, private owned, 6 miles away. I can ride to all of these on the bike itself wearing a tool pack and a camelback.

Trailer it to Waldo MX, 30 miles away, Hard rock MX/hare scrambles/sand/single track/limerock pits 30 miles the other way. Osceola and Ocala national forest, 50 miles either way. Croom is 100 miles away.

I plan on doing the crosscut and sawmill. Still sorting the new to me bike out, had a rough time this weekend at the mrann/d36 desert race. Jordan Brandt looked good on his 300, I think he was 5th OA.

What is your new bike? Did you pick up another GasGas?
I did not pre-enter, so I"ll be back in the pack....B-Senior in the bottle necks:eek:

I bought Cody Webbs Endurocross bike, 2010 250 sixdays. If everything goes ok on Saturday I will start on minute 1 on Sunday, A-Vet.

Results show me on a Husky for some reason. 11th OA and 3rd A-vet. I couldnt find you in the results Rick, did you go? How did you do?

I think that was the funnest Enduro Ive ever done.

1st enduro on GG

That race last weekend was a blast!! A true old school style with some tough sections and little jeep trails. I thought the club did a great job this year with the trails. The start was a little slow but once it dropped into the trees it was a solid race. I had a good finish with a 1st in class and I believe a 2nd OA in the C's. The Gas Gas ran great and I have no complaints about the bike. I'm a little confused why so many riders are complaining about the stock suspension set up. Maybe I'm just fortunate that the bike works well for me or ignorance is bliss. I don't feel that the bike deflects or has a harsh stroke at all, and I haven't even turned a clicker. Anyways, see you at the next one guys

tnt,

I wish....... I went, been slaving away on the bike...not really, just needed to repack the s/a to make sure I'd pass sound test.... I got a call late Saturday afternoon / evening that our boiler at work went down.....needless to say, spent the better part of the night tooling with a 200hp boiler making sure it would stay runnning. So...... by the time I got home, little to no sleep needed to pack, drive, sign up, race, drive home, I figured I'd better pass on this one! My buddy Jim (343W) A Senior was a little hot as well, we were supposed to link up also!!! So...yes, I am a slacker!

Let the flames start!
