ohlins dampner 2011

I took my dampner off my 2007 trying to put it on my 2011 which of course won't fit. Has any one ever machined off the flat area where the srews tighten up to make the radius tighten up. Are there any other cheap fixes its a sub mount.

i would imagine it would fit better if you shimmed it with some sheet steel and added some grub screws to prevent it from sliding on the neck

alternatively you could swap it with someone who has gone 2010/11 to 2012 as the neck size has grown back to the old size i believe.

PS you are talking about the tower clamp that ges around the steering neck and you are referring to the ohlins/scotts damper, not the new fancy ohlins 2.1 damper??

The '07 neck is 62mm, the '11 is 59mm. Have a spacer ring made, 59mm ID1.5mm thk., with a slot.

If this is just a Scotts tower issue, you can get one for a KTM that will fit (same 59mm neck).

If you wan't to sell the '07 tower let me know.
