Oil leaking from my fork comp screw

WP 43 forks. I have oil leaking from around the compression adj screw on the bottom of the fork. Any ideas why and how to fix?

Fork is on a 2002 EC300 that has quite a bit of trail time.

I don't know about WP but on the sachs the base nut screws into the cartridge and not the fork and seals with o-rings so if it is similar I would guess that maybe the o-rings are worn, if it is the original o-rings they are almost 10 years old

I have the same problem on my 43's but the leak is coming from the clicker screw, not the base nut or o ring area. It leaks worse at some positions of the screw setting and even after cleaning it with contact cleaner & air it still leaks. I have had it apart but I don't see how to disassemble the clicker because the c clip holding it all together looks impossible to reach without ruining the part completely. I'd like to know if it's fixable or has to be replaced, Thanks

There's an o-ring or 2 in there as well... *Should be* some sort of circlip in there to keep it from unscrewing- so usually you'd screw it all the way in and then be able to see the circlip, then you *should* be able to back it all the way out.

Be advised- if there are clicks, there are little ball bearings and springs in there making everything click...

I'll try to turn it all the way in and see if the clip is easier to reach next time I change the fork oil. Thanks!
