oil light on 2006 450

This is my second post on this and I hope someone can help out. The light comes on and off when riding. Check the view window and its full when level, you can start to see the oil if the bike is tilted 45 degrees so I assume there is lots of oil. This is the only posting I could find on the matter so I am inclined to get a new sensor and see if this fixes things. The oil is new and the bike I purchased this spring only had 20 hrs on it, now has 25 or so. If the bike was using oil, what would I look for? I am the only gasser for miles and am hoping you guys can shed some light on this. Here is the post I found;

I would go about it this way:

1. Verify oil level (you've done that already)
2. change oil filter to a hi-flo hf-112
3. clean out oil screen in oil sump
(do the '06 have wet sump? do they have the rectangular lid under the engine?)
4. Change the sensor (easy but perhaps pricey)
5. hook up a real pressure gauge and verify oil pressure
6. if oil pressure is infact under spec'd and you have done all steps above, disassemble oil pump and check for excessive wear, replace parts if necessary.
7. If oil pump is good and pressure is still low, you have too much play in pressure lubricated bearings somewhere. Engine rebuild.

I know on my uncles '06 FSE450, his oil light has been a bit weird, it did a similar thing, and then thie bike wouldnt start if the wire leading to the sensor was plugged in. I think he had the whole thing replaced when it went in for its last service. His short term solution was to leave it unplugged and keep an eye on the oil.

My 07 oil light was coming on at idle.
Thought there was something wrong as I could see there was enough.

Chatted to my dealer and he got it fix on warranty.

Something about a seal on the clutch cover??

Not sure if it is the same for a 06

Thanks for the replys. The dealer tried a sensor from an 07 model sitting on the floor and the light went out. I have a new sensor on order.
