Pipes and Jetting

This may be a dumb question for all you technically saavy guys out there... I bought my 2004 EC 300 from the original owner who had installed an FMF Gnarly Gold Series pipe... I also got the original GG pipe...

When my Gnarly pipe became sufficiently dented and dinged :o , I sent it off to be repaired and installed the GG pipe... I immediately noticed alot of piston pinging at higher rpms and it seems to be running hotter also... really lean apparently...

Does this have to do with the jetting?... I remember reading somewhere that when you change pipes, you often have to re-jet... is this the case for my situation??

Thanks guys!

I'm not from US so not sure what they shipped you in which year. Wondering if you have one with a restriction or catalyst?

The Gasgas pipe is good for mid to top end power where as the Gnarly is more of a bottom to mid end pipe. Therefore, you jetting is richer on the bottom and leaner on the top. Try lowering the clip 1 position.
